The summer camp in English is organized by the Farm School and Interaction Way with the idea to take advantage of summer time vacations to practice English. We make learning english fun. Other than our special activity days the children normally have a few activities each day in English. FARM CAMP SUMMER 2011 Interactionway S.L. is a fundamental company based around informal education, carried out through the organization of learning activities, sports, and cultural activities designed for children and teenagers. The main idea and purpose is to incorporate English in a natural way for the children. FARM-CAMP is the name of our summer camp in English that we have developed for the summer months: July and August at the Farm in Casavieja. The students who participate in our camp learn English and develop group skills through playing games and different activities. During this summer camp there are activities which allow the children to get intouch with nature and the animals on the Farm. Our experience shows us that active learning is a significant part of personal growth and education. We form small groups with the objective that all can participate in speaking, which creates trust and confidence within the group to eliminate fear of making mistakes. We include a compendium of the various methodological trends of E. S.L. (Total Physical Response, Natural Approach, etc.…). The workshops include 2 areas of learning: FUN ENGLISH ( “la diversión del Inglés” ) MUSIC&DANCE ( “la música, el inglés,…) Fun English: The principal and objective is to introduce, develop and improve the English language through the following four principal skills set into place by the standarts from the bilingual program in the Community of Madrid. READING AND WRITING (leer y escribir) SPEAKING AND LISTENING (hablar y escuchar) ORAL INTERACTION (la conversación) ENGLISH IN CONTEXT ( la inmersión ) ARTS &CRAFTS Workshops of artistic expression designed around the following themes: ENGLISH&AFRICAN WEEK AMERICAN&IRISH WEEK AFROAMERICAN WEEK For an hour and a half each day we work with various types of materials such as paints, clay, plaster, and cardboard and create african totems, masks, flags, 3D geographic models, also included is the learning of lifestyles, customs, etc... COOKING In this workshop the children create a multicultural recipe book and each week bake a different pastry. In the recipe book there are different sections such as utensils, how to do it, step by step instructions, photos, etc... FUN GRAMMAR Here we use a different style of learning to transmit the understanding of new exciting English topics which also reviews basic skills such as how to greet people. We accomplish this through sketching a situation or scene. Also included here are quiz shows and/or contests. It´s a fun way to refresh their English and learn new vocabulary. MUSIC & DANCE In this workshop we work to form continuous oral dialogue through music, movement, rhythm, song lyrics,etc... for example using music and dance from popular music groups such as the Beatles and Michael Jackson and also including african dance, etc... |
